When George stepped into the kitchens, he was immediately met with the house elves crowding around him, all of them squealing about the state you were in and asking 'Mr.Wheezy' for help. George crouched in front of you. You had stopped crying, but you didn't want to lift your head up and let him see your streaked face.
"You're the first person I've seen cry over exams being cancelled - even Hermione wasn't weepy," George muttered, his tone light hearted, but his fingers hovering over your arms. "Come on, lift your head up."
"No," you replied, stubborn. "I'm being stupid."
"No, you're not," George said, firmly. His hand rested on your forearm. "You worked really hard this year. You knew the material better than anyone else. You were going to ace those exams. I know you're disappointed, and I get why."
You sucked in a breath.
"But everyone knows you were ready - I think Snape only agreed to cancelled exams because he thought you wouldn't get anything wrong this year, and you know, he can't have that."
You laughed wetly.
"There she is!" You could hear the grin in his voice. "I'd like to see that smile too, you know?"
; in which, you fall in love with your childhood enemy.
"Alabama, Arkansas
I do love my ma and pa
Not that way that I do love you."
