On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, a cease-fire went into effect for all combatants. The war may have been over, the effects, however, were horrible. Many of the men who came back from the War were suffering from serious injuries, the effects of Mustard Gas and or shell shock. However, there was one women, in the middle of it all, at the battle of the Somme in the front line and that was Lillian McDonald, Second Lieutenant to Lieutenant Douglas Haig of the Royal Scots infantry. After the four years she gained the Victoria Cross for extreme acts of bravery on the front line as she saved hundreds of lives. Now that the war is over, she is forced to go back to normal, as if she didn't spend the last four years watching men die each day to come back to her father who was too old too fight in the war and try to marry her off to men she didn't want and, so she did the only thing that came to mind. She ran, she ran from her father and away from Scotland and ended up in the city of Birmingham not knowing that her life would change forever. #3 in Thomas Shelby 17/01/19
