When MK goes to retrieve the staff from the Demon Bull King, he doesn't quite make it. The energy that the Demon Bull King absorbed along with the powers of the Monkey King that now reside in MK is too much for a human to handle at once. When MK emerges from the stone egg he is not quite human anymore, but not a demon yet either.

(first chapter will be explaining the mechanics of this AU) With the Monkey King possessed, and this Macaque guy who the Monkey King seemed to know also possessed, MK was in a bad situation... With the Lady Bone Demon and the mayor also after him, it only made it worse! MK, now separated from his friends, was worried about them and scared for himself. Seeing your ex from hundreds, maybe even thousands, of years ago, that you just so happened to kill, back from the dead only to be possessed and on the opposite side isn't something the King of the Monkeys was all too happy to see. He knew he had to fight the six eared simian, who wasn't even in control of his own mind and body, but he couldn't bear to hurt him like he did before.

Tang gets the Hanahaki disease, and would rather die than confess. (Young Freenoodles!) I made the art on the cover :3 There might be spelling errors sorryyyy </3

He's made mistakes. Some small, some absurdly daunting. But he can work through it, he can just...forget the past. Except he can't, it simply continues to haunt him.
