Like most teenagers who leave high school and go to college Shona didn't return home to California after graduating. Instead she got an apartment with some friends out Midwest and stayed in the windy city, until she got pregnant. Even then she didn't want to move back home but she needed her family's help to raise the baby and her ex-boyfriend refused to leave the Bay and move across the country. So back home she went but not to the Bay and not to her hometown Freeridge. Once your free of the hood you stay away from the hood. But when tragedy strikes and Shona is the only one willing to handle the family drama it's back to the hood, and it couldn't have been at a worse time. Not only is her baby daddy an ex-prophet, he's also an old friend of her first love Spooky a.k.a Oscar Diaz a.k.a Santos Leader and Freeridge is in the middle of a gang war.

On My Block: Monse and Cesar Cesar was born and raised into the Santos nothing was gonna change that. He was prepared for it his whole life and honestly kind of excited when it was his time to join. Monse lived in Inglewood her whole life but her dad said he "needed a change of scenery", they moved to Freeridge right across the street from what could only be described as the worst house in the neighborhood. She sees a boy about her age lives there but she can tell he isn't a good guy. Something about Monse calls his attention and he wants to find out what it is.
