Flash fiction for the Weekend Write-In

Gotham is suffering its most intense winter in years; the entire city is encased in snow and ice. In this forced slumber, Mr. Freeze is feverishly working on the only thing he truly cares about, curing his beloved Nora. He has finally made a breakthrough and just needs one more element. He attacks an advanced genetics laboratory to steal the final component for his cure. Victor achieves what he's been fighting for all these years: he has halted the progression of Nora's illness and wakes her up. Victor and Nora are reunited, but it's bittersweet. Nora is happy to be with her husband again, but is shocked to see his transformation into a "supervillain." Victor is desperate to reconnect, but after all this time and all the horrible things he's done, that might not even be possible. Victor's emotional reunion with Nora is cut short when she is kidnapped by an unknown group of assailants. Victor is in a cold fury and uses his intense intellect and brutal tactics to hunt down the men responsible. All the while, a nagging question hangs in the background: Does he truly want to be with Nora again as Victor? Or is he more comfortable in the role of the terrifying Mr. Freeze? Mr. Freeze is one of Batman's most interesting villains, and this story will be a new shining example of why Victor is deeply sympathetic, multidimensional, and terrifying. This is a story of revenge and redemption that will expand Freeze's world while illuminating new aspects of his character.

Over a year ago this scene just jumped into my head, it had no back story and not really anything that came after it, just this scene. Listening to the chorus of Freeze this scene just popped back into my head, it's seemed to describe exactly the feel I got from this scene. Dear Diary, In this super-human society of ours, powers have drastic drawbacks. A woman who can create fire, is not heat resistant. A man who can literally become a man of steel, cannot move, as he would then be too heavy, and steel does not bend easily. My power, is time travel. Its drawback? I can only travel up to 10 seconds in the past, although it was not like this at first. I call it: Undo (or CTRL+Z). Time travelers have had a horrible history. Nowadays, you wouldn't even know if a time traveler has a power or not. We have to be clever, and we aren't allowed to tell anyone of our powers, unless we want to mysteriously disappear like the first few that were discovered. Whether they went incognito, got kidnapped or traveled back in time is still unknown. Although my life has been calm up until now, it all changes when an attempt is made to kidnap a close friend of mine. Will I be able to save her? If yes, then how long will it take?
