Frodo is turned in to a ring wraith and nothing can be done. Or maybe there is. When Frodo gets to Rivendell he wasn't fully wraith he still looked himself (alive) so the elf's put him on a medication to stop it from getting worse. Sadly when he wakes up he is unable to understand any language but of Mordor and no one can figure out what he is saying. With out any spoilers he still goes to destroy the ring but only by Gandalfs account ( the elf's didn't want a ring wraith going to destroy the ring obviously) so he goes as a sacrifice companion. :) Also it's really gay
