I reach the porch of my new neighbor's house just as my mother is leaving, and I can now hear the people running around inside, unpacking boxes and sorting through things. I slowly reach up toward the doorbell, and my hand starts to tremble. Come on, Evelyn! Get yourself together! With a burst of mostly-confidence, I make my finger push the button, signaling the doorbell to ring. The noises from inside continue, and I stand outside the door, impatiently waiting. This delay just makes my nerves much better. Luckily, my wait is over. I see a tall, slim figure approach the door through the stained-glass window.
