05:15 - Awakening
Red opened her eyes to the cold morning light slipping through the narrow window of her barracks room. The metallic floor beneath the bed creaked softly as she shifted, the sound magnified in the silence of the early hour. Every small noise seemed amplified here, as if the base itself was listening. She stretched her arms deliberately, feeling the stiffness in her shoulders and the tautness in her legs from the travel yesterday.
She swung her legs off the bed slowly, her boots already placed neatly beside it. Her uniform lay folded with military precision on the chair, and Red approached it with meticulous care. Each button fastened with exact pressure, each belt loop threaded precisely, every gesture measured to avoid unnecessary noise or attention. Mistakes were visible here, even in small motions, and Red intended to avoid them.
As she adjusted the collar of her shirt and smoothed the wrinkles in the fabric, she exhaled slowly, feeling the cool, dry air fill her lungs. "Every step, every action is being watched," she reminded herself. "Move with purpose. Observe. Survive."
