14 year old Lucinda Sinclair and her four other siblings have always struggled to live, with their abusive father and neglecting step mom. Everyday is a game of survival. But things change on her fourteenth birthday. Luce escapes Sinclair Manor and into the dark enchanting forests that surround it. Lost and confused, Luce has never ventured this deep into the enchanting woods her mother always warned her about...Although enchanting the forest may be, it holds a dark secret, a secret Luce soon discovers, one that involves a very peculiar door, and a magical world hidden behind it. Mathew, who is currently a divorced 35 year old therapist, is given Luce's case. Determined to finding out the problem with Luce, he finds out much more the he ever intended too.
