Some of our existential experiences and thoughts at times rock us at our core. They make us question the nature of reality. We want to pursue them not only in order to make sense of them in our own small idiosyncratic worlds but how they fit in the overall narrative of human reality.

A sequel to an older work of mine, this time critiquing the misogynistic society (and now, honestly) in which Widow Brasher was raised, and how her niece Rebecca's subscription to such beliefs culminate in fear, hatred, and a family curse. NOTE: This is a LONG short story, not a novel. Image not mine, as always I think religion can be positive, as I am Christian myself, but it can also be used in a negative way to oppress various people. I think it is right to call the fake Christians out.

Everybody was convinced that the great Sherlock Holmes has lost touch with reality. After a major psychotic episode in Baker Street, Mycroft decided to send the detective overseas to a research center for psycho-neurological disorders, convinced that his brother is terminally insane. John and his friends refuse to believe and embarks on a clandestine investigation to uncover the truth. Sherlock is taken under the wing of the renowned scientist and psychiatrist River Mallory of Harvard University and California Research Center for Mental Health. Under the influence of an unknown powerful psychedelic substance, the detective finds himself in a secret facility of mazes and puzzles, strange code-breaking and mysterious tests of practical deduction. Realizing that he is being tested as a subject, he struggles to break free from the labyrinth of his own mind. Confronting Mallory, Sherlock uncovered the scientist's involvement with military intelligence, global surveillance, and a plan to annihilate the Middle East. Only one thing stops Sherlock, and of all the things, the one he feared the most: Sentiment. Dangerous sentiment.

This is an excerpt from my book, The Ultimate Religion - Taken in by a Cult, Finding the Real Truth. In this chapter Megan, the protagonist, has just been driven out of her happy life in Fishguard by a stalker, back to her childhood town of Hastings, where she has tentatively been attending the church of her youth and finding little comfort. Megan has gone to the park to spend some time alone and is harassed there by Connie, a fanatical bible basher, whom she is too polite to dismiss.

The Hindu fundamentalism is a misnomer, coined by the cunning and subscribed by the naïve, which had come in handy to the Semitic proselytizers to undermine the Indian nationalism. Why, it should be apparent to the discerning that while the Brahmanism is orthodox, the sanatana dharma, exemplified by swadharma, is amorphous, and in them lay the social diversity of the Hindu spiritual ethos.

This was part of a project I had to do so I'm sticking it on here to see if anyone likes it New Assyria: the perfect Christian state. Everyone goes to church, the law is decided by the Bible, and Creationism is taught in all schools. But for Abbi Davis, it couldn't be worse. The signing of a new anti-gay law by Uganda's president comes as one of many recent acts against homosexuals throughout Africa, following Russia which last summer passed a much publicized law banning propaganda of "non-traditional sexual relations". Condemnation of these repressive laws has been swift and justified, but are we in the West as tolerant as we would like to believe? An edited version of this piece was first published in March 16-31, 2014 issue of Canada's People's Voice.

In the 6th volume of my series "The Right People", Tom and his friends experience the brutal consequences of the 1967 Middle East War during a visit to the Suez Canal. Traveling by car from Cairo to the Libyan border, the friends get into an altercation with Egyptian police officers, and later in Tripolis they meet a young Saudi, who is under the influence of Islamist fundamentalists and heir to a large construction company. The somewhat ironic title "Bloodthirsty Beasts" refers to an encounter with a family of bears in the mountains of northern Greece, and to a snake bite that sends Sophia into a panic on the island of Tassos. From secret NATO papers, the Greek resistance group learns of the existence of covert "stay-behind forces" that have been set up in NATO countries in case of a Soviet invasion, but have also been interfering in the internal politics of some countries. Last but not least, the love triangle of Tom, Nikos and Sophia dissolves after Sophia falls in love with a Nubian student named Maher in Cairo - but you never really know with Sophia... New chapters are published every Saturday. Have fun browsing.

This year, one of our assignments in English class was to write a "letter" to an abstract concept. It could be anything from hope, to love, to fear, to war, to conflict. I decided to choose religion as my concept, because it is a complicated topic for me, but it is also something I have a great interest in. In this project, I explore my positive and negative feelings and experiences with religion in a letter form. This project would not exist without my amazing Language Arts teachers, who have supported me unconditionally throughout my journey as a writer. I am forever grateful for their compassion, guidance, and understanding. I would not be where I am today without them. This is an unedited repost of my original assignment. Cover photography does not belong to me. It will be switched to original photography in the future.

But joining the church is not at easy as she thought, and in The Gilded Cage Parts One and Two, we followed her trials and tribulations. In Part 3, she is in trouble again, as her modern views clash with the traditions of a community in turmoil.
