Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are organic chemicals that easily evaporate at room temperature, becoming a major source of air pollution. Common VOCs include formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, ethers, and acetic acid, with primary absorption peaks between 3.2-3.4 μm. They are prevalent in both natural environments and industrial processes, posing serious threats to human health and the environment.
Infrared optical gas imaging (OGI) uses a selective narrow-band filter to block background radiation and capture only the infrared wavelengths absorbed by the target gas. With image filtering and enhancement, gas leaks appear as hot spots or cold spots on the thermal image, enabling rapid leak localization.
