Everyone knows about soulmates. It's just common knowledge. When you're born you will have a string that ties you directly to your soulmate. If you're older, the string won't show until the other is born. The string is a different color for each couple and the only people that can see the string are soulmates that have already found each other. Caroline Avery is Jack's younger sister who is two years younger than him. Caroline was a girl who didn't have many friends except her brother and her sisters but mostly Jack. They were and still are best friends and she was devastated when Jack told her he was going to LA with 4 other boys to live out his music career.
