In which the young warlock, Merlin, and the noble prince, Arthur, realize their feelings for each other. *** There sat Arthur and Merlin, side by side on the damp forest ground, their breathing heavy. Outrunning your enemies wasn't as easy as Merlin thought it would be. He seemed to be having a harder time calming down than the man beside him. "Merlin." Arthur spoke. "Merlin, are you alright?" His expression showed genuine concern for his friend. Merlin let out a laugh. "You look like you care, almost as if you like me." He smiled that gummy grin of his, but Arthur didn't return it. Merlin furrowed his brows, and his happiness faded from his face. "Arthur? It was a joke, Arthur." "... It wasn't a very funny one." Merlin's heart tinged with a tiny bit of pain, but the reason for it was unbeknownst to him. Was this, too, his destiny? To not only protect the once and future king, but to also fall in love with him?

After Merlin is kidnapped on a hunting trip, Morgana casts a spell that forces Merlin to tell the truth. How will he keep his secrets from his friends? And when Morgana finally gathers the means to attack Camelot, what will Merlin do to stop it? This is a Merthur fic, but not primarily focused on Merthur. Doesn't really take place in a specific time, but Uther is dead. Lancelot is alive because he's a beautiful human being who didn't deserve his pain and I lowkey forgot to add Mordred in the beginning so he's working with Morgana for now. Gwen is at home in Camelot, worrying over the fact that Arthur has yet to return home, two of her best knights are missing, and Merlin is a sorcerer. Suddenly, she's met with news that triggers the end of everything she knows. Starts shortly before Percival returns home in Diamond of the Day.

A Mergana AU that takes place after 1.08 The Beginning of the End Merlin and Morgana escape with Mordred and flee Camelot. When Uther finds out that Morgana and Merlin helped the Druid boy escape AND that they both have magic, he banishes them from Camelot and puts a price on their heads (even though it pains him to do so). Now, it's Merlin's job to teach Morgana how to use her powers as they flee from the guards hunting them.

Arthur develops magical abilities in his early teenage years and learns to hide it in fear of his father. Merlin comes along and they both try to hide their magic from the other while simultaneously trying to figure out what the other is hiding from them. Of course, they both need to hide their abilities from Uther, which becomes harder and harder after Merlin is kidnapped by an evil sorceress. All while they struggle to understand their feelings for one another. Set in Season 1, sometime before The Beginning of the End, so he doesn't know he is Emrys yet, but Merlin has been Arthur's manservant for a while. (I don't own Merlin or the characters, just loved the show)

Memories are essentially what life is, yet Merlin tries his best not to dig deep back in the past. Even the happy ones are always bittersweet, reminding him of the friendships he had once had. In the process of avoiding all his memories, he ends up forgetting all the values that his mother had instilled in him, all the things he had once believed. Will Merlin ever learn to stop bottling up his emotions?
