As Max escapes to Planet Drool, he battles the darkness and tries to save his new friends' planet from destruction.

Maggie rubbed her eyes and laid back in the grass, the light of the galaxies above her reflecting against her pupils. For now, she could pretend to be alone in the universe. She could pretend that she was her own galaxy. She imagined the stars inside her, the lights and wonders waiting, undiscovered, and she could breathe again. Sharkboy, Lavagirl, and Galactia need Max and his sister's help. Darkness is spreading over Planet Drool, thanks to Mr. Electric who used to be the planet electrician before turning evil. With Max's dream journal in Minus' possession, all of his dreams are turned from good to evil. On the journey, Max's little sister along with Lavagirl discover their true destinies.
