Please have read the first hunger games prior to reading this! It's a story following Gales point of view as Katniss is In the games. When Peeta dies, Gale has no one in the way of true love. Yes, this has a happy ending, don't worry.

Katniss Everdeen, Clove Kentwell, Glimmer Belcourt, Johanna Mason, Finch Crossley, Madge Undersee, Delly Cartwright and Annie Cresta are starting high school. They're going headfirst into new friendships, new boys, and a lot of new drama. But at least they have each other, right? Panem High School in Savannah, Georgia is famous for its wide range of electives, its beautiful campus and its hilarious variety of education quality (thanks most to a brutally vicious combat instructor and consistently drunk math teacher). It's a school that has taught many generations of students, successful and otherwise, and it's a school that is going flip the lives of these kids upside down. Censor info: language.

Gale isn't sure what to do Katniss survived the hunger game, but that isn't what he's worried about the price of her surviving is that she has to pretend she's in love with a boy she barely knows, and Gale knows one thing for sure after she held up those berries the capitol may see it as an act of undying love, but gale knows better it was an act of resistance, and he knows snow saw it too. Gale WILL protect Katniss even if he has to drag her as far away from district 12 as possible because he knows with all his heart he wouldn't be able to live without her. The real question is however can she live without him? I will not be following the whole story line, and this will be much different from the hunger games books.

While she tries to fight her way to him, he tries to slide away. Book One: Broken Pawns Book Two: Slide Away *wrote this piece of crap in 7/8th grade and it's so bad.*

She's in District 12 with Peeta, Haymitch, and Gale's mother and siblings. She hasn't even seen Gale or her mom in over eighteen months. But when there's a fire that sets off an explosion in District 4, Katniss leaves 12 to help in 4. But what was the reason for the fire?? Okay sorry, I'm like REALLY bad at making summaries for stories. I hope you'll like the book more than the description, XP. I DO NOT OWN THESE CHARACTERS OR THE SETTING OR WHATEVER ELSE!! THAT WOULD BE SUZANNE COLLINS, THE AMAZING AUTHOR OF THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY!!!! Also, there are some of Collins' phrases and stuff like that. There's at least one mention of the book Peeta and Katniss were making in memory of the people who died, or the fact that Haymitch has geese, and other things like that. There will be some of my own made up characters but I couldn't do that without Suzanne having written the book, so... And the cover art (which I personally think is pretty dang awesome) was made by janeviiianueva on Tumblr. All credit goes to her. All I did was put my name on it. lol And honestly, the name for this fic came from that cover art, so shout out to her!! (Don't worry, I got her permission. XD)

Everthorne

When his brother is reaped and Gale takes his place in the 74th Hunger Games, he is suddenly faced with problems that no eighteen year old should ever have to endure. His life turns upside down from the moment he volunteers and every second is spent trying to survive. While his best friend, and the girl he has been in love with for forever, stays at home in District 12; To what extremes will Gale go to get back to Katniss and his family?

The fighting continues, even after Snow is killed. There's a new war. A new leader. Katniss escapes a new rebel base with Gale and Finnick. Then, when Katniss, Gale and Finnick escape to District 12, they find that their district has come back to life - from the dead. And Katniss gets an opportunity to start to a new life.... with Gale Hawthorne. Most impressive ranking: #8 in galeandkatniss

Its the regular hunger games story but I tweeked it a little so the odds may be in Gales favour. ;)
