The story "Acapulco At Sunset" is set in Acapulco in 1790 when the Spanish galleons sailed from Spain to Mexico to the Philippines. The main character, a Filipina woman living in Acapulco, waits for the galleon from Manila and muses on her life there instead of in Manila. This is the title story of the collection, Acapulco At Sunset and Other Stories, by Cecilia Manguerra Brainard, the complete collection of which can found in Kindle. It is part of my book in progress: Collected Stories by Cecilia Manguerra Brainard. I'm always looking for an international publisher.

I can not help but dream of life at sea... My father always told me tales of the 'spirit realm pirates'. How after living at sea for hundreds of years the mere mortals passed into a new realm of immortality to become something absolutely breathtaking. An angelic or even God like creature with powers to control the sea and the creatures within it... He often told me of real pirates as well. They intrigued me much more than silly legends... How these true pirates would set off from there familia to fight for treasure, or seek to steal fair maidens away from there homes and loving brothers, sisters and husbands... Only to sell them away for dark elixirs, and sea charts.. even swords, and fortune.

It started as a tale like any other: a pilot with delusions of grandeur stumbling upon a mysterious, seemingly derelict, ship in the desolate reaches of space. A find too good to be true, he ventures in regardless, intent on claiming fame and fortune, but soon finds he bit off more than he could chew. (Cover art by "dp")

(Highest Rankings: #1 in sea of thieves #2 in kraken and #4 in rum) We got to shore, and I turned around to see why everyone was so horrified after I was put down on the ground, only to see a ton of tentacles sticking up out of the water. "I'm sorry you two had to experience The Kraken at such a young age..." Max's father trailed off painfully, as he grabbed a small, beaten up longboat, and a paddle, and paddled back out to the galleon as a crewmember loyal to his Captain and Ship, to help his crew fight off The Kraken, even though he already knew it was hopeless. I just stared in horror, as I watched The Kraken sinking my father's galleon, and along with him. My hands were covering my mouth, which was dropped wide open from my horror. I couldn't feel my body, as I was stunned, and then, I lost control of my own body, as I dashed forwards, screaming in denial, as I watched the last of my father's galleon sink below the horizon. I would have kept going forward, but I was held back by Max and another lady. Skylee is a twenty-one year old woman, who lost her famous father to The Kraken when she was only seven years old. The tragic even has left her partially traumatized, but now she has worked up the courage to leaver her adopted home: Ancient Spire Outpost, and set out on her most exciting and dangerous adventure yet, with her best friend, Maxwell. What will happen to these two as they sail the seas together in hopes of finding the pirate that lives inside of them? Read to find out! Notice: I do not have a set updating schedule because of how busy I am. I just write whenever I find the time and inspiration. Updates may be slow or fast depending on this.

A thirst for exotic spices and a zealous desire to spread Christianity propelled Fernando de Magallanes on a perilous voyage - the first circumnavigation of the globe. He leads a fleet of Spanish ships westward, braving treacherous waters and dwindling supplies in search of a new route to the coveted Spice Islands of the East. However, this ambitious quest harbors hidden complexities. Whispers of other motives and personal agendas simmer amongst Magellan's crew, threatening to disrupt the fragile purpose of the expedition. Meanwhile, on the archipelago called Spice Islands, a storm of a different kind brews. Lapu-Lapu, the resolute chieftain of Mactan, fiercely guards his island's independence. Accustomed to a life dictated by tradition and the rhythm of the waves, he views the arrival of the heavily armored Spanish delegation as a dangerous intrusion. When Magellan attempts to strong-arm him into submission and conversion, Lapu-Lapu refuses to bend. The stage is set for a pivotal clash. On one side stands an advanced European force, fueled by a desire for wealth and religious dominion. On the other, a fiercely independent island community, led by a warrior chieftain who refuses to compromise his people's freedom. As these opposing forces collide, the outcome of the battle will not only determine the fate of Mactan but also leave an indelible mark on the course of Philippine history.

A world with two seas. The first, Azur Lane. A sea where a military organization of the same name fights the traitorous Crimson Axis, who have allied themselves with Azur Lane's sworn enemies, the mysterious and sinister sirens. In this sea, technology determines the might of each side. Planes, Destroyers, Aircraft Carriers, Riggings, and such. Then there is the second sea. The Sea of Thieves. A sea that is occupied by Pirates. The old fashioned kind. Wooden ships, flintlocks, cannons, and black flags. Unlike Azur Lane, The Sea of Thieves is not at war with itself. Rather, it is a place where pirates will be pirates. Azur Lane and The Sea of Thieves generally leave each other alone, however, Pirate ships have been known to fire on Azur Lane and Crimson Axis, and it isn't uncommon for some Crimson Axis ships to come into The Sea of Thieves and attack Pirates to blow off some steam. But one day, The Eagle Union The Royal Navy notices a Galleon sailing just off the coast of their island. Some of the ship girls are sent out to board it and interrogate the crew. However, instead of the bloodthirsty pirates they expected to find, they find pirates who will become their greatest allies.
