In a future, centuries after the fall of The Old World, everything looks much like it did in the days of spaghetti westerns and cowboys but mixed with the new age. The story follows the citizens of the small town Babel, who are shielded from the malice of The New World by their faith alone. But when a strange man who calls himself a musician and an undertaker shows up, things start to happen that leave the town's folk questioning their religion. Until ultimately, their actions and choices are no longer their own.

During the colonial era in 17th century Great Britain, a criminal is to confront the consequences of his thievery. But what's worse, he's only a fifteen year old boy. Caught red-handed, he is to face the gallows. While he awaits his doom, the haunting drum roll reminds him of how short life can be. When the drums stop, his life ends.

This is the rewritten story of the Edgar Allen Poe's famous The Black Cat, except this is from the second cat's point of view, starting in the tavern, or den.

A medieval man loses his arm in a single brutal stroke but refuses to die. Using his teeth and belt straps, he lashes a knife to his stump and survives against nature itself. Over time, he becomes something more than human-gaunt, tireless, and feared-a hollow figure who wanders through gallows and battlefields, leaving behind only blood, silence, and the whisper of steel in the dark.

Just a short story/poem that I wrote a while ago - doesn't really have much of a plot and not going to add anything to it but I quite like it so wanted to put it up. Enjoy!
