Hiro and Ruli have just graduated high school, and they are going to open Digitia in just a few weeks. But, not all Digimon or humans are happy with this arrangement. Suddenly, things seem to be happening to make Digitia fail --- after 4 years of peace, Hiro and the gang will have to, once again, fight for what they believe in.

A Digimon who once shared a body with another being and has worked together alongside their allies to save every corner of the Universe from the Devourer of Space must rise up, and also fight alongside new allies to save it from the Emperor of Larc..' A year and a half has passed since our heroes succeeded in saving the Universe and every devoured world and realm from the clutches of Arcturusmon and the Shadownites, and thus The Chosen Ones and all their partners have returned to living their normal lives (If you could consider being on an Earth where humans coexist with colorful creatures and digital monsters a normal life). However, when Gammamon ends up falling through a strange door on the ground that had some glow-in-the-dark chains painted on it, he soon enough finds himself in a place similar to his old home in the Digital World, yet different to how he remembers it, before finding out about an Evil Digimon ravaging the city of Larc whose plan is to eradicate Legendary Heroes- Be they from the Digital World or not. Stranded in his former domain that he called home and all on his own without Casey or any of the other Chosen Ones present to help him see things through, Gammamon must work together with some brand-new friends and a self-aware machine who don't have partner Digimon of their own that were each taken from their own worlds and were brought into the Digital World to face this new threat.
