Maybe time had halted, says violin player Ganesh Rajagopalan as he approached the Grammy stage with his Shakti musicians to get the brilliant gramophone for 'Best Worldwide Music Collection'. Shakti won the Grammy for "This Second", the band's most memorable studio collection in more than 45 years. Lord Ganesh and His Broken Tusk Once, Lord Ganesh, the wise and benevolent remover of obstacles, was guarding the door while his father, Lord Shiva, was meditating. Sage Parashuram, a fierce devotee of Lord Shiva, arrived to pay his respects. Ganesh, adhering to his duty, stopped Parashuram from entering. Parashuram, known for his temper, felt insulted. A heated argument ensued, and Parashuram attacked Ganesh with his axe, a gift from Lord Shiva himself. Ganesh, out of respect for his father's weapon, did not counter the attack and took the blow. The axe struck Ganesh's tusk, breaking one of them. Despite the pain, Ganesh remained calm and composed, his broken tusk symbolizing sacrifice, humility, and wisdom. This event teaches the importance of duty, respect, and self-restraint, even in the face of aggression. Ganesh later used his broken tusk as a tool to write the epic Mahabharata, dictated by Sage Vyasa, showcasing that even a loss can lead to greater accomplishments.
