Ivy's high school boyfriend was skateboarding when he was fatally hit by a car. Now she'll do anything to get him back, even if it means tapping into dark magic. She just has to wait for a meteor shower to bolster her rudimentary powers. But when she accidentally unleashes a deadly curse on her seaside town, she's forced to accept help from a local garage band filled with people she hates, including the girl whose mom was driving that fateful day.

I'm just going to throw it out there that the main character, Jax, is not going to be with Brendon at any point in time because Jax is a minor (15) and that would be weird and illegal even if it is just a story. It's more of a friendship/father daughter story that I decided to write since I never see it. But if that's not what you're looking for I suggest you leave. I also want to throw out there that there's going to be a trigger warning for homophobia, homophobic slurs, depressive thoughts, mentions of past self harm, and manipulative family issues. They never expected their fates to intertwine, but music has its own strange way of connecting people's hearts. All it takes is a garage, some instruments, and a little bit (scratch that, a lot) of hard work, and an unbreakable friendship is born.

Alex has to start high school with just the help of her best friends Nate, Louise and Spade. 'The Foolish Four', 'The Nerd Alerts' 'The Loser Clique' they were called by the kids in middle school. They never understood all the names they were called, yes they were smart but they weren't top of the class or anything. They were all weird, all something out of the ordinary and some kids liked to pick on them for it. Spade, was always jittery; she could never stop moving. Louise, was anti-social; if her head wasn't in a book you would know something was wrong. Nate, was so tall he hit his head on the ceiling in most rooms in the school. Alex, had a stutter that sent teachers who had to talk to her through the roof with anger. But this isn't a story about a group of misfit friends, no this is the story of how Alex met Danny and how she fell for Danny like her life depended on it. This is the story of a loser girl.

What happens when an unsuspecting girl and guy are thrown into a marriage they don't want? That's exactly the case of Ivory and Alex, born into different families whose marriage serves to prevent competition between their businesses. No matter how they oppose the idea, their parents are hell-bent on marrying them to each other to honor a five-generation-old deal that took place between their ancestors.
