Aella Melgreen and her boyfriend Garrick Tavis, her best friend/brother figure Xaden Riorson, and Bodih Durran are inseparable because of years of hardships, trust, and loyalty to each other. When Aella learns that Violet Sorrengail her old childhood best friend is joining the riders quadrant she now has to protect Violet and help her survive the deadly war college.
