Garroth is always the golden boy at the annual Phoenix Drop Winter reunion-charming, polite, responsible. Gene is only there because someone guilt-tripped him into "community service" by helping set up booths and definitely not because he wanted to see a certain blue-eyed knight in a cozy sweater. When the two get shoved under the mistletoe during a silly party game, everyone expects them to laugh it off. Instead, Garroth kisses him. Just once. Quick. Just to "get it over with."
