This Mass Effect fanfiction is post-war and includes the special ending of Mass Effect, FemShep x Vakarian, and light to medium language usage. °° Surprisingly, the only people who died during the run to the Citadel were Javik and Vega. (Mass Effect 2) Commander Shepard hasn't been himself lately, disappearing from the ship at odd times without telling even his closest friends. Fearing Cerberus influence, Tali enlists the other members of the original Normandy crew to investigate.

Okay, so I'm the biggest idiot on the planet of idiots, and I have legitimately written poetry about two of my Mass Effect children. And I'm posting it here. Like a fucking idiot. :)

(Mass Effect 2) Tali'Zorah returns to the Normandy at Commander Shepard's invitation, but instead of familiar faces finds a ship crewed by the terrorist group that attacked her people. Fearing she's made a terrible mistake, she questions her judgement and even her loyalty to Shepard until the appearance of another old friend.

A fic that takes place relatively shortly after the events of Mass Effect 3. Finally tired of collecting psychological trauma, Shepard retires to a quiet, civilian life. However, fitting the job description a little too perfectly, she and Garrus are withdrawn from their leave and appointed to an interspecies special task force. After a colony's unexplained disappearance leaves behind a horrific scene, the crew of the Normandy is faced with hunting down a cosmic horror and solving the mystery of the Ardat-Yakshi.

(Mass Effect 2) When Shepard is away from the Normandy, the squad begins to chafe under Miranda's authority. They look to Garrus to replace her as XO, but on a ship built by Cerberus, crewed by the most powerful mercenaries in the galaxy, a mutiny could spell disaster for all of them. Follows "Just like Old Times" and "Friends like These."

What does it take to recover in the aftermath of the Reaper War, particularly through the lens of Garrus's grief over Shepard's presumed death. With the crew scattered in their mourning, searching for meaning and purpose in a universe that has been irrevocably changed. The faint hope sparked by Tali's discovery provides a glimmer of something to hold onto.
