Sudah pernah mendengar istilah gaslighting? Menurut pengertiannya, gaslighting adalah tindakan brainwashing dan memanipulasi yang biasa terjadi sehari-hari. Orang yang melakukannya disebut dengan gaslighter. Tujuan dari seorang gaslighter adalah membuat korbannya meragukan diri mereka sendiri. Gaslighting sama halnya dengan tindakan abusement. Sebab, korban akan mulai merasa kehilangan identitas dan persepsi mereka, sampai-sampai bisa merasa tidak berharga. Bisa dikatakan bahwa gaslighting merupakan bentuk kecenderungan narsisme dan sosiopatik sebab orang yang melakukannya ingin mendapatkan kekuatan, dan merasa mereka berkuasa atas seseorang.
