Small poem I wrote for a friend. Hoping it helps more then just him.

Jack, a stalker, not wanting to let go of his true love. After she has gotten away from him, how could she even dare to go away? If she doesn't plan to come back, i plan of going to visit her. I wonder how happy she will be to see me? I can't wait.

This is based off of Halsey's song Gasoline from her album Badlands (Deluxe). It's an amazing song and amazing album, so I recommend it if you haven't listened to it. But still read this even if you haven't listened to it because I will have lyrics from the song to match up with different parts of the song. Also, this is my interpretation of the song so please don't hate on me if I didn't get the same message as you.

He was like black coffee, hot, bitter, and exhilarating. Not only his looks gave him the entitlement of hot but also his words, burning against you like the end of cigarette to your palm. Yet he was bitter. So bitter, that his glance could send a chill running down your spine. But he was also exhilarating. He had an ability to make an entire body ignite under the careful stare of his icy eyes which could almost make one look past how bitter he was. He was like black coffee. If you could look past the steaming hot handle of the mug scalding at your palm or the bitterness of the dark burning content against your tongue, in the end the caffeine may give you a rush.

A mysterious group called The Committee is prying teens from their homes and forcing them to take special tests to see who will survive and who will die. For some odd reason, they only test two subjects at a time. One boy and one girl. The two are never supposed to know each other. If one of them dies, so be it. The surviving one wins, and therefore is released back into the city. They are then branded with a number. It starts out slowly. The circuits, they aren't painful as they embed themselves into your skin. But eventually, you start to lose control. You seem more robot-like than human now. The humans are being turned into machines. When a small group of teenagers that survived the Trials escape the confinement area before the Branding, they must get to the bottom of who exactly their city is being governed by... And what their motives are for destroying all of humanity.
