The world has ended. It's been in a state of ruin for five years. Constantly surrounded by death and decay. The infected overrun the world, killing whatever they set their senses on. The world is overgrown with plants and moss, buildings are collapsing, people are losing their minds. Michael Jones lived a happy life with his wife Lindsay, but that all changed when it started. Now, he is set the task of escorting Gavin Free - a man a couple years younger than him - across what is left of the United States, fighting for their lives. Their minds set on one goal. Survival. As they travel the post-apocalyptic United States, the two men grow closer, bonding with each other, their relationship growing.  And nothing can get in their way. No infected. No humans. (You can read this story without playing the game, but it does spoil major plot points in the game, of course)

The Achievement Hunters are a company of bounty hunters primarily focused on relics riddled with unimaginable value. There are three departments. The Hunters, The Collectors and The Bosses. Recovering the relics are the Hunters' specialty as they are given something that can best be described as an aura -though much more efficient and active- which help them during missions. Michael, of course, belongs to that group. He'd been physically as well as emotionally trained for a countless number of possible Achievements and situations, but never for the Achievement he was about to encounter.

Gavin and Geoff are in a car accident which leads to Gavin being in a coma, with little chance of waking up. In a last ditch effort to communicate, Michael (and other RT members) write him letters, hoping one day, his boy might just wake up.

Everything was normal in the Achievement Hunter office, when a sudden storm struck and granted the men special powers. As they grow accustomed to these new abilities, an evil force emerges from the shadows and threatens to destroy our world. Can the Achievement Hunters handle their newfound powers and save the world? Or will we be plunged into darkness by the faceless shadows?

Barbara and Gavin have been friends since Gavin started working at Roosterteeth they were close friends. But one day something happens. Could it be something they both have wanted for a long time..

A constant, unexpected rain falls during the scheduled RTX convention, and threatens to put a damper on everyone's good mood. Michael is just Gavin's brother's, Geoff's, friend. I swear. Basically Geoff is Gavin's older brother and he has a regular group of mostly older friends that he hangs out with.
