This is a Detroit Become Human fanfiction. I have written this story because I didn't really find a fanfiction that was completed or updated recently. So I thought it can be a good opportunity to create this story. So enjoy and be careful because of the spoilers. But if you don't know what Detroit become human is I recommend you to watch a playthrough of it. It will worth your time I promise. Anyways I hope you like it. -Clipp3r (Sidenote: it is kind of a Gavin Reed x Reader fanfic with a bit of Connor x Reader parts. Oh and if you find any mistake just text me. I would appreciate that because my english still sucks). The story takes place after the revolution which was in 2038. After the peaceful demonstration which was held by the leader, Markus the androids successfully achieved their goal of being free. Ruby Palmer was once part of the Detroit Police Department. She used to be a soldier and she actually got to the military at a young age. After 5 years of training and studying she decided to become a detective. She didn't have a partner but she often solved some cases with Gavin Reed. Gavin was always rude with her but Ruby always defended herself but after a while something has changed in her. All of a sudden she started feeling something for Gavin. But in August right before she could have deal with her current situation with Gavin and before CyberLife created Connor, Ruby decided to finish her training. After she accomplished her goal in November she returns and she is excited than ever. But somehow the only thing she can think about is Gavin.

Nines has never really celebrated Christmas before. Sure, he was activated in November of 2038 - he's seen a Christmas come to pass - but he's never celebrated the holiday. With conflicts brewing between his brothers, he doesn't know if there will be very much in the way of Christmas spirit in store for him this year. Gavin's family always holds an annual Christmas reunion in their hometown in Minnesota. With his mother's health on the decline, the Reed family doesn't know how many more Christmases she has left, meaning this year's holiday is especially important. Nearly every member of Gavin's lineage is going to be there - Hell, even Elijah found the time to come home, something he rarely ever does anymore. When Gavin invites Nines to come with him to Minnesota, Nines is eager to go. He's desperate to make a good impression, and hopefully help to mend his partner's decaying reputation within his family. He needs to prove a point, not just to Gavin's family, but to himself, that he deserves to be normal. That he deserves a domestic life, to be happy with a typical existence. To enjoy a normal Christmas holiday just like everyone else. Gavin is determined to prove to his family that he deserves to be here just as much as everyone else does - that he's not a disgrace to the Reed family name. He needs to prove that he can change, that he has changed, and that he's not the useless, hotheaded, alcoholic asshole that he was a few years ago.

Gavin and Connor seem to be growing closer, and maybe there's something going on that Nines doesn't know about. As he becomes deviant and falls in love he'll need to figure out the answers to some questions Connor and Gavins supposed relationship brings. Nines, an Rk900 Android, saves his DPD partner from a deviant attack. After hostility, 28 stab wounds, and some tea Gavin realizes that Nines isn't so bad. They bond, and realize that the other species isn't as bad as once thought. Sure, their friendship is okay. It's built off of bad jokes, near death experiences, sexual tension, alcohol and pizza but who cares? Not y'all nasties apparently lmao have fun ;)

Even as life for Detroit's freed androids settles into some semblance of pleasant normalcy, pointed reminders that they are not truly human remain. As DPD's first android staff member, Connor is allotted a desk complete with nameplate but there's an emptiness about it that he can't ignore...
