If you don't know the series here's the summary of the first book (NOTE: I did not write this paragraph) In America after the Second Civil War, the Pro-Choice and Pro-Life armies came to an agreement: The Bill of Life states that human life may not be touched from the moment of conception until a child reaches the age of thirteen. Her parents are freaks about the family reputation and decide if they can't have the perfect daughter then they don't want one at all.
