Short byler story that takes place in December 𝚃𝚊𝚔𝚎𝚜 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚎 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚢𝚎𝚊𝚛 𝚘𝚏 𝟷𝟿𝟿𝟻 𝙼𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚆𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚕𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚢 𝚝𝚘𝚐𝚎𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛

The plan was set in motion, Max was trying to bait Vecna and the others were ready to fulfill their parts of the plan. Suddenly something unexpected happens and it catches everyone off guard. or The title, basically. I'm posting this here because I'm too scared to post this on Ao3 :) El and Mike aren't together in this and I'm pretty sure Byler will be the ship for this fic. Holly thinks about the note that Mike never gave to Will. She remembers that weird rock song Mike and Will had been listening to on Christmas night, and how Mike seemed to play that song again at every given opportunity. She remembers Will's soft smile when Mike whispered something in his ear. She remembers things from further back, like how Will was at their house more often than Mike's other friends. Or how they used to hold hands and hug all the time before- Before. Or: Holly watches from afar as Mike Wheeler slowly comes to terms with his love for Will Byers.

Jack Gray mysteriously disappears for 38 years when suddenly family members and friends of his get an invitation to this mysterious hotel in France. When they arrive there, everything is very unusual. What happens next?

"It's seven at night and the party is gathered in Mike's basement, drunk on laughter and cold pizza and togetherness. Will is in his wizard costume-well, the cape is draped across his lap as he stretches out on the couch and the tall, pointed purple hat is askew, a couple jostles away from falling straight off, so maybe he isn't exactly in costume, but he doesn't really care at this point, because the room is full of warmth and giddiness and he hasn't felt so at peace in what seems like forever. Mike is sprawled out on the floor below him, snorting at the sight of Lucas and Dustin as they wrestle with each other." Will and Mike sneak away to make out.
