After Eddie Munsons was cleared of being a suspect for murder, he flees the town of Hawkins to start new somewhere different. But he is soon called back after finding out Steve reciprocated his feelings only to find out he's married and with a kid on the way. This only brings him to keep running away from his problems and feelings, but he keeps finding himself at the same place as Steve only making it harder for himself.

Eddie left Hawkins in 1986 with no reason to ever return. But now, a few years have passed and life has changed. Eddie finally returns home and has to deal with everything he left behind, including Steve Harrington. This story starts in May 1991.
