This is the short story I wrote for my English Lit GCSE. I decided to post it as reading other peoples examples really helped me with mine! I think it got like one mark less then full marks (19 maybe?), I wrote it in year 10 and cringe every time I read it now, but it might help someone. Don't copy it as you could get disqualified. i had to write this for a gcse language practise literally a year ago so we had half an hour to write something based on the cover picture which is why it's ehhh also i now know what the painting is actually based on, let's bear in mind that at the time i knew nothing about the painting apart what i could see thought it might be fun to post it on here because i'm just bored basically this is not a description i guess you'll just have to read to find out smh

The Elephant Man (Joseph Carey Merrick) is a true story that we have to study for Drama GCSE as part of the "Outsider" Unit. We had to write and perform a monologue and this is mine. :) Joseph Merrick was someone who was born with loads of tumours and put into a freak show. The monologue shows his feelings and how he didn't want to be exhibitted but be normal like everyone else. At the end of the story/film he lays down on his bed like a normal person and dies because his tumours crush his trachea. It's a sad ending but it was what he wanted to do his whole life - to be a normal person.

Exams are hard on the best of days. The silent hall, eyes down, no talking. Failure is on the line. But something is off about this exam. Something more dangerous than a F. Something deadly. Will they survive it?

On the fifteenth of May 2020, I watched 'Interactive Introverts,' which is a stage show directed, written and performed by YouTube stars Daniel Howell (formerly known as danisnotonfire) and AmazingPhil (real name Philip Lester). I watched it at home on DVD because of the coronavirus... ...Sadly, I was unable to go to 'Interactive Introverts' in 2018. Watching it in 2020 after all the significant things they have done was enjoyable.
