Magic has fallen on the backburner to the modern age. Computers and internet replacing scrolls of transmission and libraries, cars replacing the taming of magical beasts, and there is not a mage alive or dead who can match the speed of a bullet. The blacksmithing of the dwarves can not match up to the speed and quality of factories. In an age of rapid advancement, you'd imagine a population relaxed and comfortable in their taming of the elements. But...the world is ending, its 'book' already reaching its closing pages. All because of a spirit that will destroy the world.
