From the killing fields of Vietnam to the killing floors of American capitalism, Senator Alejandro Ramos-Alejo has witnessed a lifetime of state violence-and participated in it. As he lies dying in a New Mexico hospital, watching the January 6th insurrection unfold on television, his mind cycles through the moments that shaped him: learning about the My Lai massacre that radicalized a generation, discovering the history of La Matanza that his family had lived through, riding a Greyhound bus to Washington D.C. in 1969 with a dog-eared copy of an underground antiwar newspaper. His family's story is America's story told from the bottom up-Bracero Program workers pushed from state to state, organizers beaten and abandoned, children born into poverty and taught to be grateful for the chance to work themselves to death in someone else's fields. But Ramos-Alejo chose a different path: he went to Washington not as a protester but as a senator, believing he could change the system from within. Now, as his longtime aide abandons him and his body shuts down, he's forced to confront the possibility that his entire political career was just another form of extraction-taking the moral authority of his family's suffering and spending it to legitimize the very institutions that caused that suffering. A devastating portrait of political compromise and the seductive power of proximity to power, "El Tiempo Cura las Heridas" asks whether time really does heal all wounds, or whether some wounds are too deep, too systematic, and too profitable to ever truly heal.

Ashante Waite, the good girl of upper-echelon suburban Wilmington went missing. Surprisingly though, many adults in the community don't seem the least bit concerned. But her best friend knows something's up. When a mysterious note shows up stuck to her ride, she is forced to unravel a tangled web of family secrets, prejudice, and deception. Was Ashante ever who they thought she was? EXCERPT**** The headline is in deep black in all caps, like it's begging for attention. SON OF LOCAL FAMILY LEGACY INVESTIGATED FOR KIDNAPPING AND MANSLAUGHTER. The son in question is John Waite. I quickly skim the rest of the article. In April of 1988, shy-but-smart high school junior Jillian Davys went missing. A month later she was found dead in a drainage ditch. "Holy shit," Ethan says. I suddenly feel the need to throw up. A boy's love story where the two MC's broke the generational curse that their family continuously inheriting and go against the rules in the name of love, freedom, and respect. The story highlights positive self-care and is vocal about the burden of "responsibility". It supports love between same gender without malice. Despite the disagreement that the characters encounters, the story is open about character development and acceptance. Here, you will not only relate to a character but you'll be motivated to be not afraid of loving someone in behalf of feeling fear of differences in class, gender, and how society view you as an individual. A story that supports change, and is waiting for the plants we planted, which was once often getting stepped on but is now is being taken of care, to grow with love, support, kindness, respect, and openness by opening the arms of change for the betterment. Their mafia is one of a kind, they're the second biggest mafia in the underground world, the world that deals with everything the 'real' refuses to deal with and buries under layers of lies. Only chasing after money, fame & power but not chasing their happiness. Emilio refuses to be the one that's left unhappy whilst putting up a fake status for everyone. He plays a big role in the mafia, he and his brother are both two people that can't lack or even take a break. As the years pass by, they bond over work and rarely ever dedicate their time to fully get to know eachother, and overtime, it becomes a habit. EMILIO . . . ﹏

Generational distance can be overcome by those who take a step back to see the big picture. This story serves as a demo of a new style of writing I'm trying out that involves absolutely nothing but dialogue. Might not turn out as good as I hope, but it's my first try so we'll see where it goes.

Hello and welcome! I'm your omniscient narrator, joining you from a 1960s pub, The Forts Duchess - this tales home. Don't be fooled though, those bricks and mortar that make up this home are far more than a place to indulge in food and beverage. No, right behind me, we have The Fort with a capital T and F; the place where tears are shed, music is played, and hearts are housed - also known as the theatre. Above my precious little head, we have the boarding rooms, rooms of the rented, the magic behind the operation where - more often than not- our characters bed down for the night. And, finally, right before my eyes, we have our Forts Knights busying around our pub like minions on a busy New Years eve. Strap in everyone, you're in for a real ride.
