SPOILERS FOR THE WHOLE ANIME/MANGA AHEAD. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! This is an alternate ending/storyline to the main series. It's also my first fanfic so dont judge me lol. I dont know how consistently i'll update the story yet, ig ill just see how much traction it gets. You need to at least watch/read the whole series before s4 pt 3 before reading this. Without doing so, you'll be lost. (Plus, who reads a fanfic without watching a series first anyways?) Finally, this is MY original fanfic. Do NOT steal for personal use, and do not use my ideas in your own works without my permission. Background info: The events of this story take place starting in s4, everything prior remaining the same as the original story. (Events after the petrification.) This fic is completely SFW, and follows typical YA guidlines. There is mild language occasionally, scences with some tension, and moderate descriptions of gore. A lil sneak peek into the action: Once upon a time, two kids meet through shared circumstances. One is a free-spirited artist with a bit of an attitude. The other, a sneaky magician who puts on a mask around most people, but opens up around the ones he trusts. They both come from broken homes, and have their share of trauma to bond over. Unfortunately, fate loves to play with these two, and their hearts. In a woeful act of cruelty, they ade are torn apart from eachother. Time after time, over the span of millenia. "She's my moron. Don't go getting ideas." "Too late." Hanako, the childhood best friend of Senku Ishigami with a past she'd rather not share. Even though her knowledge of science is only basic, the two are inseparable. That it, until 3700 years later she meets the world renowned mentalist, Gen Asagiri. The magician soon takes a liking to the girl but she's reluctant to be close to anyone but the leek due to her past. Will Gen alone be enough to break down her walls??

The crude laboratory glowed in the firelight, steam curling from bubbling mixtures. Senku's hands moved with mechanical precision, but his mind kept slipping. Every equation blurred into the same thought: Aria. Chrome leaned over, eyes wide with curiosity. "Senku, you're usually unstoppable. But you've redone that equation three times. Are you okay?" Senku's smirk was automatic, sharp enough to deflect suspicion. "Ten billion percent fine. Just juggling too many variables. Science doesn't wait for me to get sentimental." But Chrome wasn't fooled. He'd seen Senku push through exhaustion before. This was different. Later, when the others had gone to gather sulfur and minerals, Senku sat alone, notebook open. Half the pages were filled with chemical pathways for sulfa drugs. The other half-sketches. Not of machines, not of formulas. Of her. Of her fingers clutching the bottle cap. A silly thing that he had just absentmindedly given to her, but he couldn't get the image out of his mind. Her smile. Her warmth. Her curiosity. Senku has drawn it all from memory. Staring into the haunting image of her eyes, frustration grabbed hold of his heart when the sketch didn't do her justice. He snapped the book shut, jaw tight. "Focus. Ruri's life depends on this. Humanity depends on this. You don't get to waste time chasing ghosts."

Everything was perfect. They were close to finally move out to go in America. But problems just started for Kingdom of Science.
