THIS BOOK IS BEING USED TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR GEORGE FLOYD'S DEATH. I AM NOT BEING INSENSITIVE, I JUST WANT OTHER PEOPLE TO SEE WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE BLACK IN AMERICA AND ALL OVER THE WORLD. I HOPE I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE THROUGH THIS BOOK EVEN IF IT IS A SMALL CHANGE. THANK YOU

Using Joy Harjo's "How To Write a Poem in a Time of War" as a reference point for formatting, the poem "two thousand and twenty" touches on major events that occurred in twenty twenty and their emotional impact. Topics that were focused on include police brutality, COVID-19, and mental wellness. Italicized lines intertwined throughout the poem represent my thoughts.

Want to help out but don't know what to do? Want to be more educated on black history? Please read on! I said it once and I will say it again: If you are silent you are compliant. Don't do nothing in this critical time in history! It doesn't matter who you are or where you come from, just be there for the black community when they need you. Innocent lives are being taken! STAND UP FOR THEM!! If you don't agree with this please read anyways. Maybe I can change your mind and if not, please unfollow me. -Cabbage❀️

"James Reeb became nationally known as a rightful martyr to the Civil Rights Movement when he made the ultimate sacrifice answering Dr Martin Luther King Jr. 's call for clergy in the revolutionary march from Selma to Montgomery. Shortly after his spring 1965 march, the social rights leader hailed Reeb a friend, an ally, but above all "a shining example of manhood at its best." James Reeb was a renowned religious instructor priding himself in uplifting impoverished black communities. Despite my paper being months old from the last school year, this is the right time to share to America and the world about one of the most influential civil rights leaders who paid the ultimate sacrifice to the cause.

I was trying to lend my voice to Mr.Floyd, but I couldn't hear him. I had nothing shareworthy to say. This is what was left when I deleted everything that wasn't this poem. But there is alot more to say. I tried Mr. Floyd. If you want a voice, please don't hesitate to reach me. Happy journey brother.

This a #Poem I wrote about how the pandemic has affected our lives now, and the anxiety I feel when I hear someone coughing, even a little bit. These are feelings I am sure we all share, and I wanted to capture them to the rhythm of a heartbeat. The last line captures both the struggle to breathe by victims of the coronavirus, and the struggle to attain equality for people of colour which was highlighted by the pandemic. Our race does not give you the license to do whatever you want. We have had enough of our blood being needlessly shed and society is beginning to open their eyes to that. We are no longer going to be a race of oppression. These events taking place is not the first time. We have protested for years, we have been killed for years, we have faced discrimination for years. Enough is enough. Please use your voice and stand with us so that we can live just like you. BLACK LIVES MATTER !
