A Witcher Short Story - Geralt x Reader Her breaths were slow when her hand gripped onto the jagged rocks along the shoreline, vision spotting as she dragged her body out of the frozen water. Her lungs coughed up the remnants of the river behind her, limbs collapsing as they began to lose their feeling. Pins and needles sparked along her body from her fingers and up her arms, down her chest into her feet as her body shivered uncontrollably. It was a good sign, at least, the shivering, but she wasn't sure how long it would last as a gust of deep winter air cut around her skin. Gravel dug into the palms of her hands as she crawled further out of the water, her feet at last out of the river as the weight of her limbs grew. She fought back the cry breaking against her teeth as pain erupted up her leg, collapsing to her elbows once again as her vision grew darker.

Henry Cavill is about to start filming Season 3 of the Witcher and shortly before they're set to start he gets word that they had to recast a new character and he'll now be working with a new woman instead of the one he'd met already. He wasn't a fan of surprise recasting and since he was the resident Witcher Reference Guide he liked to make sure the casting would fit the books. Though the director assures him it will be fine, that Evelyn looks almost exactly like the last actress, he still had his reservations. Looking the part was only half the battle. Evelyn is not an actress, she's only ever worked with horses and trained them so how she'd found herself agreeing to play a part in her friend's series was beyond her. Her friend had begged her to take her spot since she'd fallen from her horse and broken her leg and wouldn't be able to do the series herself and since Evelyn had never been able to tell her friend no she was on her way to Surrey England to start filming. Her friend hadn't even told her what series it was, she'd get all the information she needed once she got to set which was a good thing because if she'd know who she'd be acting with she'd have stayed far far away.
