What could he do without him? The small bard, always following him around? Nothing. Never anything. He is stuck, a mess. Unhappy. Why couldn't Jaskier walk in, laugh at Geralt's brooding self, and play his music? Where was he?

Geralt can be a little more than just possessive when it comes to a certain bard.

"If life could give me one blessing- it would be to take you off my hands!" Jaskier never felt the same after that day on the mountain. His usual happy twinkle in his eyes was gone, as was his motivation to write any more songs that involved Geralt of Rivia and his amazing exploits, he was lost... Only one remained, speaking of the famous Witcher. But how was he to act when facing Geralt once again? In a tavern of all places, it was only a matter of time... but was the bard ready to face his old friend and companion?

"Jaskier." Jaskier finally lifts his head, making eye contact. "What?" Geralt swallows, staring at Jaskier. "You don't have to do that." Jaskier frowns, visibly confused. He stares back. "Do what?" Geralt exhales. "Whatever you're doing right now." His face heats up, even though he's not sure why, and he doesn't like it. Jaskier blinks. "I'm not doing anything," he says. His fingers have stopped moving, and Geralt thinks that he genuinely isn't aware that he's even touching Geralt's hair. "You are," Geralt insists. "You're braiding my hair." His voice is colorless.

There are only a select few who care and have found the person bound to them. All in all, soulmates are a rare situation and commitment to consider. Julian Alfred Pankratz, on day one as a child, was taught that finding a soulmate as nobility did not matter. One was to marry another person of nobility to keep everything in order. Of course, Julian didn't listen to a word his father said, and instead ran off in his early adult years to find them. Unfortunately, however, when he stumbles upon the person he is to love forever, they dismiss the idea as well as Julian himself. But that doesn't mean Julian is to give up, no sir. The rejection only drives him more to change his fate into one with his soulmate.

Cahir did not understand the relationship between the bard and the witcher. It was only his nighttime conversation with Geralt that made him realize how strong is the bond between the two.
