This story is the fanfiction version of In The Shadows written by the amazing Katydids. It is now an original, with a completed first book and the beginning of a second. While the fanfic version is similar to her original with some of the characters and basic plot, not everything is the same. Katy is graciously allowing me to post this here. When Sang's father dies, she and her mother move away to her grandparents. There she meets a group of guys that live down the road who are so much more than they seem. Soon, Sang's world is rocked with a revelation that changes all she's every known about herself and her family. And with this revelation comes a danger that she may not be equipped to deal with. What happens when the world you thought you lived in isn't anything like it seems? This is a fanfiction of The Academy: Ghost Bird series by CL Stone. All characters and rights go to her. No money is intended to be made off of this story. We just like to play in her world.

The Blackbourne team was injured in a mission. All of them suffered eye injuries that caused them all to go blind. In the hospital, they meet a girl who's voice is sweet and kind. The girl is a stranger who happened to stumble into their room by accident. Every day, she comes in and talks to them. Weeks pass, and every time they spend time together, the boys fall in love with her more and more. The boys receive their sight back after grueling months of medication, and they are excited to meet the girl they've never seen before but she doesn't come. Nor the next day or the next day. A week passes, and the boys become curious. Was she a figment of their mind? Who was she? They look on the cameras and see a small girl with blonde hair. She seems to know where the cameras are and is always able to keep her face hidden. Then, Sang would be let inside to get ready, go to school, come home and do some chores, possibly being punished, and then it was outside for the rest of the night/weekend. She was a 'creature from Hell,' as her atheist mother might say, an animal. And animals live outside. That doesn't make it any easier to survive out there, however. So when Sang gets stuck in a tree, and the boys come to the rescue, she's grateful for the 'friends.' She soaks up their attention and affection, quickly worming her way into their team- but as only a mere cat. They confide in her, love her as a pet, unaware of her true nature. They have no idea the kitten they love so much is really just a teenage girl. How long can she keep up the act? What happens when the boys find out? Sang Sorenson ends up in a world she never thought possible. Sang has a secret not even she knew. To keep this secret among themselves, the rulers of Norta, House Calore, decide to throw her into the deep end to watch Sang very closely. With the elite houses watching her every move, she has to keep up her act. Any slip up could be the cause of her death. But when she is approached by a group of rebels known as the Scarlet Guard and Sang continuously interacts with the 9 boys at the heart of the group things soon become complicated. A cross-over fanfic of Ghost Bird series (C L Stone) and Red Queen series (Victoria Aveyard) I own no characters from the above 2 series and characters from both belong to the stated authors.

There was a rush of panic as we all filed into our cars. I couldn't believe this was happening. It had been nearly ten years since the last time we had seen her. The last time we were all truly happy. We had hurt her. Bad. And I wasn't sure if it was even be possible to get her back, but I had to try. She was it, for me at least. My epic love and he had ruined it. For all of us. I had never seen my brothers so miserable. Well, except for him. I hadn't seen him in nearly as long as I had seen her. He caused her pain. Broke her heart and caused her to leave us all. And now, as we rushed out of our house, we would finally be able to see her again.
