Oceanus had fallen in love with a mortal woman and had 2 children with her a while ago, so he went out into the mortal world, and went looking for Arianna Storm and Max Storm. Before Oceanus could take Arianna and Max away, her mother, Hailey Storm fled to Colorado. By that time, Arianna was 12 while Max was 9. When Oceanus finally tracked Hailey down, he came there himself to take Arianna and kill Hailey and Max. He succeeded in killing Hailey but when he went into Arianna's room where she was supposed to be taking a nap she was gone. Arianna returned to the sea after the titans were destroyed and has been living there ever since. She does not go to Poseidon or Camp Half blood for fear of being rejected. However she is forced to come out of her shell when she is found by the seven on the Argo II.
