Alana Hasting, is a 16 year old girl with a very religious family. She was raised in an environment where being gay was wrong, and associating with people who were was a sin. Even though her family have very strong religious views she has to question, why is it so wrong? Her best friend Nick, is openly gay. Her life takes a complicated turn when her cousin, confesses she is gay and the family flips. While trying to help her cousin, she is also wondering about her own sexuality.

“Ariella?...are you okay..did I do something?” I looked up, and there stood the blue eyed leprechaun. He had his eyebrows knitted in confusion and I could see a look of worry fog his ocean blue orbs. I offered a small smile. “no Niall your perfect you didn’t do anything..I.w-was just..its s-stupid” I said hiccupping “well it doesn’t seem that way, does the mermaid need a Horan hug?” he asked I lightly chuckled, and nodded my head. I didn’t even know what a Horan Hug was. He smiled goofily at me before sitting next to me and embracing me, I melted into the hug and buried my head in his chest. This is my problem someone in my shoes would have built a wall too high for anyone to jump over and too strong for anyone to break, but the there’s me being comforted by a guy I have known for less than an hour. I looked up into his blue eyes before unwrapping myself from the hug.
