Ember Yorkenburg is messy, artistic 15 years old girl and lives with her aunt and uncle. Her parents died on her first birthday and she was told is was because of a car crash, since their bodies were never found Ember has always been curious about what really happened. She starts having nightmares about Isadore and meets Omar, a funny awkward also 15 year old, who helps her find out what really happened to her parents. On the way she meets a kind, cautious girl named Arden and the three of them encounter Isadore and learn why Ember really lives with her aunt and uncle.
