Girl-and-garden Stories

The trees were beautiful. They were big, and strong and gentle. The beautiful girl cared for the trees. She was small, and delicate and tough. The girl loved the trees she had now, and she loved the trees she had then, but her love was not the same. There was a difference between her two loves, one of feeling and history.
