"I can't-" He threw his head back and groaned dramatically, dragging his hand down his face. "I just don't want to make it weird." "Make it weird, huh?" Giulia deadpanned. "You're weird all the time, so Luca won't even notice." Or: The summer Ferragosto festival is approaching. Alberto yearns, Giulia schemes, Massimo worries, and Luca is completely oblivious.

Less than a year after that very first summer, Luca and Giulia are back in Portorosso. The three kids couldn't be more excited to spend this summer together--even if, for Alberto, it means he'll have to hold the cards of a few uncertain, unspoken words closer to himself than before. It's the summer after Luca's first year at school. Over the year, he's had a lot of time to think about things, including his and alberto's friendship. But.. he can't quite figure out what it is about their friendship that feels different. kenna has awoken the luca fandom. if you'd have told me in 2021 that luberto was canon i'd have probs had a mental breakdown. i'm genuinely so happy!! i can't wait to write this story. it's the second luberto one i've done, however the other one is on private cos it's crap. hopefully i've improved since then!!
