"Giyuu-sama!" Aoi's voice broke through the tension, filled with relief as she hurried to Kanao's side, carefully cradling her. "The sun is almost up! We just need to...to..." Her words caught in her throat, her breath hitching as she looked up at Giyuu. He turned to face her, and what she saw made her blood run cold. Giyuu's eyes-once deep, round pools of blue that looked like a calm ocean-were now sharp, vertical slits, glowing with an unnatural light. Aoi's heart pounded in her chest, the realization crashing over her like a wave. The man who had fought so valiantly to protect them, who had refused to give in even when the odds were against him... was now one of them. "No..." she whispered, her voice trembling.
