Yet reacting with violence is not difficult. Anger and fear can push anyone in that direction. The greater challenge lies in restraint. To have the power to harm and choose not to requires control, awareness, and intention. Mercy is not weakness, and peace is not passive. Both demand discipline. Strength is not measured by how often one fights, but by the ability to decide when it is necessary. True strength is found in that choice, where power is guided by judgment rather than impulse. Is true strength found in the sword... or in the will to put it down?

'Gladiator of Rome: Short Stories' will be a collection of short stories and bonus chapters around each of the main characters from the first novel in the trilogy; Gladiator of Rome. Each story will be a stand-alone tale and although some of the stories may take place within the time frame that the trilogy is set most of the stories will be focusing on the origins of each character and therefore not in the trilogy. In 1615 A.D. in the desert lands of what is now Old Western America was a colony called Nomania. Their world is quickly becoming over run with snakes and the Queen commands one of the strongest of her Gladiators to fight against them. Basically a random story that I came up with off the top of my head. I have a "plan" for it which is really only point A to B with a few details in the middle, the rest will be off the top of my head just as the original idea was. Hopefully it will be enjoyable to read but only you, the readers will be able to tell that.
