Apesar de sua popularidade, Glinda e Elphaba não têm uma relação muito boa. Elphaba, uma garota com pele verde o oposto da extrovertida e social Glinda. Os dois mundos frequentemente colidem, especialmente porque Glinda, no início, não entende ou aceita as diferenças de Elphaba. Glinda pode ser superficial e até um pouco arrogante, mas, no fundo, ela é bem-intencionada - mesmo que demore para enxergar além das aparências.
