"The Fandom" A bunch of crazies, dressing up, singing about 'Gandalf's fireworks', being the only set of people who encourage eating several times a day, and swooning over girly men with pointed ears. Sound familiar? This is my, somewhat nostalgic, look at the Tolkien fandom and the *gasp* forbidden world of Fanfiction. It a celebration, and not a rant. It is by no means a catalogue of my opinions, nor is it a list of "pet peeves" or "Do's & Do nots," of entering into the fellowship of Fanficer's - oh lawd that sounds wrong - ahem of fanfiction writers and readers. It is. mostly appreciation memoirs, and...well...if you do decide to pass through; "Tea's at four, everyone is welcome, don't bother knocking."

Eowyn is a daughter of horse lords, a shield-maiden of the mighty nation of Rohan. As the darkness of Mordor continues to overtake the lands of Middle-earth, she finds herself losing hope for herself and her country. She decides to stowaway as an undercover soldier as her uncle, the king, and his army goes to aid the armies of Gondor. Though there may not be much hope for winning this war, she aspires to die nobly while fighting for her land and world - except she does not find death, but finds a surprising alternative ending with something else entirely: hope. The end of "The Return of the King" as told from Eowyn's perspective.
