Y/N never cared much for Filipino class, especially when it came to memorizing dates and names of long-gone heroes. But when her teacher hands her an ancient-looking book, everything changes.
One moment, she's struggling to stay awake in class. The next, she's waking up in 1870s Philippines, right in the middle of Spanish rule. Confused, lost, and desperately trying not to alter the past, she finds herself drawn to one man in particular, Padre Jose Burgos, a priest who speaks of justice, reform... and unknowingly, his own tragic fate.
At first, she tells herself she's only here to observe, to learn. But as she gets closer to Jose, witnessing his unwavering determination, his quiet kindness, the way he looks at her when he thinks she isn't watching, Y/N finds herself facing an impossible choice.
Does she let history take its course? Or does she risk everything, her future, her existence, to save the man who was never meant to live?
Time is running out.
Note: This is my first time writing, so you may come across some grammar errors in the story. I do not own any of the characters, just Y/N. Happy reading!
