After his Quirk Diagnosis, Izuku was abandoned at the beach by Hisashi without Inko's knowledge, despite her deep love for him regardless of how his Quirk affects his appearance. Using his own Quirk-which he named "The Washbuckler"-Izuku transformed into a Pirate Octopus with Aquatic Elemental Powers and entered the ocean. The octopus species welcomed him as family, and he found belonging among ocean life. Meanwhile, Inko divorced Hisashi's dreadful truth about Izuku and became both a lawyer advocating for Quirkless student rights and a Quirk Analyst for UA's Quirk Counseling program, inspired by Izuku's journals to help others understand their own Quirks. Around the same time, witnesses began reporting sightings of an Octopus Pirate known as the Washbuckler, who was protecting sea life from poachers and harvesters. While Inko dismisses this as coincidence, even brilliant minds like Nezu, Aizawa, and Tsukauchi suspect otherwise and beg to differ.
