Bella Fortune is a socially awkward middle-aged woman who moonlights as a best selling author notorious for her unhappy endings. Pen name Otae, she holds the belief that she is a goddess in her own right. Her characters are no more than puppets on a string, created for the sole purpose of dancing to her rhythm and tempo. Who's to say she's wrong, but when she's perceived to take her cruelty too far with a fan-favorite character, her fans choose to take his life into their own hands and give him the happy ending he deserves in the form of a collaborative fan fictions that even her co-workers decide to take part in. An amusing turn of events, until one person's writing in particular catches her eye, and she decides to play her hand as well.
